This article provides a comprehensive list of the operating systems and distributions supported for agentless autodiscovery. While the list covers a wide range of environments, it is not exhaustive, and support for additional operating systems is continually being evaluated.

Note: All discoveries can be performed without agents with the option to deploy one or more remote collectors for broader network reach. Agentless Windows discovery requires at least one instance of the Windows Discovery Service (WDS) deployed on your network where it can reach your desired discovery targets.

Supported Distros and Operating Systems

The following major operating system work effectively with autodiscovery:

  • Major Linux distributions are supported, including:
  • - Debian

    - Ubuntu

    - Red Hat

    - CentOS

    - Fedora

    - SUSE

    - OpenSUSE

  • Most UNIX distros are supported, including:
  • - AIX

    - OpenBSD

    - FreeBSD

    - HP-UX

    - Solaris

  • Other UNIX distros should also work well with autodiscovery through SSH.
  • Major Windows releases (7, 8, 10, Server 2000+) are all supported and should all work well with autodiscovery (via WMI/WinRM).
  • Discovery of the IBM i powered mid-range line and IBM z/OS powered mainframes is also supported.
  • Tested Distros and Operating Systems
